Hotelschool The Hague is one of the last independent single sector Universities of Applied Sciences in The Netherlands. The institute has gained a unique position in the realm of education as well as in the international hospitality industry.

Hotelschool The Hague was founded in 1929 by HORECAF, the employers’ organisation in the hotel and catering industry. Since its foundation, the Hotelschool has become an international school specialised in hotel management. In July 2002 Hotelschool The Hague became a member of ‘The Leading Hotel schools of The World’, and in September of that same year it opened a second branch in Amsterdam.   

The Hotelschool is a small, autonomous and independent institute with approximately 1950 students, educating young people to become managers in the hospitality industry. About 100 lecturers and instructors from The Netherlands and abroad are responsible for teaching and training the students.

With a history spanning more than a quarter of a century, Shatec Institutes has since built a sterling reputation as the leading hospitality and tourism education provider in Asia. Established in 1983, Shatec Institutes was inaugurated by the Singapore Hotel Association with support from the Singapore Tourism Board.

Shatec Institutes’ main campus is located at Bukit Batok which houses a range of seminar rooms, industrial training and well-equipped demonstration kitchens, and a beverage laboratory, and resource library services. Shatec Institutes also has a commercial restaurant located at The Treasury building.

Depuis 1996, l’Ecole Hôtelière de Genève est reconnue, en qualité d’Ecole Supérieure (ES), comme une institution d’utilité publique par les gouvernements cantonaux et la Confédération suisse. Elle garde néanmoins une large indépendance dans le développement et la réalisation de ses programmes de formation, qui aboutissent à l’obtention du diplôme.

Remis à l’étudiant qui a pleinement satisfait aux conditions d’études et de stages, ce diplôme est largement apprécié et reconnu sur le plan national et international. Il procure à son titulaire l’autorisation d’exploiter un établissement sur l’ensemble du territoire suisse et confère également le titre de « maître d’apprentissage ». L’autorité cantonale participe activement aux examens finaux et son appellation est reconnue et protégée par la Confédération suisse.

There are many good hotel management schools in Switzerland and IMI University Centre is one of them, but what makes IMI University Centre special? While the school is not conventional, and never will become so, IMI University Centre takes great pride in the quality of their professional education. Regardless of the student’s educational background, nationality and whatever level or degree they want to achieve, IMI University Centre offers a pathway for students to develop their professional career in hospitality, tourism or events. The school provides a wide range of undergraduate BA (Hons) programmes for high school graduates, as well as MBA courses for degree-holders with management experiences. Students with accredited prior learning (APL) in hospitality, tourism and events may apply for direct entry to the Diploma, Higher Diploma or BA (Hons) programmes. Students who are just starting out on hospitality, tourism and events can apply to the Certificate programme.

Von ihren Anfängen im Jahr 1979 bis heute hat sich die Tourismusbetriebswirtschaft an der DHBW Ravensburg zu einem breit gefächerten Kompetenzzentrum entwickelt, in dem u.a. einige der wichtigsten deutschen Tourismuslehrbücher entstanden sind. Mit den Vertiefungen Hotel- und Gastronomiemanagement, Destinations- und Kurortemanagement, Reiseverkehrsmanagement und – seit 2007 – Freizeitwirtschaft wird das gesamte Spektrum des weltweit größten Wirtschaftszweiges in Ravensburg abgedeckt.

Dies ermöglicht, aufbauend auf einem soliden betriebswirtschaftlichen Fundament, über das gesamte Studium hinweg eine fundierte tourismusbetriebswirtschaftliche Spezialisierung wie auch Synergien in Forschung und Lehre. Die oft internationalen Karrieren der Absolventinnen und Absolventen sind dabei nicht auf den Tourismus beschränkt. Die solide betriebswirtschaftliche Ausbildung zeigt sich auch darin, dass ehemalige Studierende auch in anderen Wirtschaftsbereichen erfolgreich Karriere machen.

Zentrales Merkmal der DHBW ist das duale Studienkonzept mit wechselnden Theorie- 
und Praxisphasen sowie die enge Kooperation zwischen der Hochschule und ihren Partnerunternehmen. Die Unternehmen wählen die Studierenden aus, schließen mit den Studierenden einen dreijährigen Vertrag ab und bieten während des Studiums eine fortlaufende Vergütung. Die DHBW übernimmt die akademische Ausbildung, die mit einem akkreditierten Bachelor-Abschluss endet.
